The Essential Nature of Qualified BMW Repair Services

It’s not surprising that people can get enthusiastic at times about the type of maintenance their vehicle receives. For some people, a car is an investment in future value. For other people, the type of service their vehicle gets is helpful in eliminating problematic and irritating breakdowns. Whatever category a person falls under, if a person owns a vehicle, such as a BMW, one of the most important things they can do to protect their investment is to make sure only those authorized and qualified to offer bmw service should be entrusted with the routine maintenance or repairs of a BMW vehicle.

For people that own older BMWs, these types of vehicles can quickly turn into valuable classics. Fortunately, it doesn’t mean that these vehicles have outlived their usefulness. Older BMWs, even those that are 20, 30 or even 40 years old, can still be excellent vehicles to have out on the road. Whether it’s a Sunday afternoon drive or it’s using the vehicle to get to and from work, these vehicles are perfect for everyday driving. However, the reasons why these vehicles can last so long is that qualified service individuals handle the repairs and maintenance of the BMW vehicle.

When it comes to bmw service, there’s simply no substitute for qualified individuals. These technicians understand all things BMW. Whether it’s older technology or the new technology integrated into more current BMW vehicles, these people know it inside and out. If there’s a problem with the vehicle or if the correct way of doing maintenance is vital to the owner of the vehicle, qualified BMW technicians should be the only ones handling any sort of work that the car needs.

It’s easy to look at a repair facility as being similar to any other repair shop in town. However, when it comes to the training that a mechanic gets, often times, having mechanics that are trained specifically to work on a particular vehicle is essential. This is precisely what you’ll get with an authorize

Steps to Take Following an Accident

It’s a fact of life that accidents happen. No matter how cautious one is when out on the road, one cannot control the actions of others. Any time a driver is involved in an accident, there are certain steps he or she should take to prevent problems now and in the future. By following these steps, the driver minimizes the effects of the accident and moves forward with life.

The first thing to do is to contact the proper authorities, especially when injuries are involved. Assist those in need of medical care, when possible, and make sure the scene is secured and all involved are safe from passing vehicles. One doesn’t want more injuries to occur while waiting for the authorities to arrive.

Don’t provide anyone with the details of the accident and never admit fault in an accident. Statements taken now can be used against drivers if the case goes further, so it’s best to be quiet and only speak to the authorities when they arrive. One should take this time to record details of the accident, writing down everything they remember and taking pictures of the cars involved, the local area, traffic and weather conditions and more. Be sure to get contact information for the other driver along with any individuals who witnessed the accident for future use.

When speaking to the authorities, describe exactly what happened. Although an accident is scary, take a deep breath and walk them through it step by step. Did the other driver fail to signal properly or was erratic behavior observed before the crash? Small details can be of great importance at this time, therefore one needs to provide as much information as possible.

When the time comes to get one’s car repaired, an auto body shop must be selected. Many turn to Eurobahn for volkswagen greensboro nc auto body repairs. This provider is known for quality work done in a timely manner and offers a warranty on all work done. Don’t take the car to any volkswagen greensboro provider when this facility is ready and willing to help. Contact them today for great results, as you are sure to be satisfied when the repairs are complete.

BMW Repair Checklist Before Sending Your Student to College – North Carolina

dealership alternative for BMW in Greensboro, NC

Before your undergrad hits the books in the campus library, gets involved with Greek life or tailgates for the big game, have these auto-related items checked by your local BMW repair shop to ensure safety on the road prior to the start of Fall semester.

Engine: English 101 may be a breeze but breaking down on the side of the road due to engine trouble isn’t. Engine problems can range from engine overheating to jerky driving, and more, so have your local BMW mechanic check the hoses, lines, clamps, temperature gauge and your water pump, to make sure everything is in prime operating condition.

Battery: All night cram session for Wednesday’s Midterm can cause headaches (and anxiety) for your college kid, and can be even worse when their BMW doesn’t start and they’re late for their exam the next morning. Be sure to have your local BMW technician check for corrosion, dirt and grime on the battery, as well as for any leaks.

Tires: Put the pedal to the metal (as your undergrad will while writing that essay on The Importance of Social Media in Today’s Marketplace) when it comes to taking your undergrad’s BMW to the nearest BMW service center for an examination of tires. Your BMW mechanic will check and make sure there are no signs of wear, such as bulging and worn treads.

AC/Cooling Systems: 8:00 a.m. class on a Friday morning, no sweat…broken air-conditioner, major sweat! Have your BMW mechanic check the AC and cooling system. A proper inspection of the AC line, filter and seal can help determine any AC-related problems. Also, an examination of air flow around the radiator, the radiator cap (for cracks) and coolant levels can determine if your cooling system is operating correctly.

Brakes: Unusual sounds (like ones that can be heard from the Student Center’s annual karaoke night) coming from your student’s BMW, along with a hard pedal feel, vibrations and pulling to the left or right, can be signs of brake problems. To avoid this, have your brakes routinely checked by your local BMW service center.

Fluids: Dormitory living has its ups and downs. When the flu hits your student’s floor, they’ll be forcing fluids to fight it off. Keep the fluids in their BMW topped off by getting them checked at a local BMW repair shop. Fluids to be checked include oil, power steering, brake and transmission.

By having these auto-related items checked for your child BMW before college starts, the only thing they’ll be worrying about this semester is gaining the Freshman 15 and what to wear to the party on Thursday night.

Search for a local, independent BMW repair shop with BMW mechanics that have dealer-level expertise at a fraction of the cost.

BMW X6 vs. Mercedes-Benz M-Class Coupé | Greensboro, NC

At the 2014 Beijing Motor Show, Mercedes-Benz announced the M-Class Coupe which will rival the BMW X6. The concept vehicle previews the final design which will be slightly toned down.

10155460_10152575399597454_6478226770667697226_n

While in the case of the X6 the practical conceived X5 serves as the base, Mercedes-Benz uses their ML as a technical platform for M-Class Coupe. The current generation of M-Class has been on the market since 2011 and is built at the U.S. plant in Tuscaloosa, where also Mercedes MLC Coupe could run off the assembly line.

The grille and headlights are very GLA with a more dynamic. The many folds and creases in the hood and doors also give the concept a sportier look inspired by the GLA again. Mercedes says the rear end was inspired by the S-Class Coupe.

The slopping curve of the roof is actually quite reminiscent of the X6, with a combination of modern and sportiness in a single package.

“The Concept Coupé SUV stands out thanks to its extreme proportions and in doing so interprets our hall mark coupé design idiom,” says Mercedes-Benz design boss, Gorden Wagener.

At 4935mm in length, 2044mm in width and 1739mm in height, the Concept Coupé SUV is said to closely mirror its production sibling in size. If these figures are retained, the MLC will be 58mm longer, 61mm wider and 49mm higher than the existing first-generation BMW X6.

Mercedes-Benz has fitted the Concept Coupé SUV with twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre petrol V6. The new unit produces 328 hp at 5500 rpm and 354lb-ft between 1400 and 4000rpm.

10291239_10152575399807454_2064076579155015097_n

This is 22bhp and 59lb ft more than that delivered by the turbocharged 3.0-liter in-line six-cylinder direct injection petrol engine used by the soon-to-be-superseded X6 xDrive35i.

It offers the choice between Comfort, Slippery, Sport, Sport Plus and Individual – the latter of which allows the driver to mix and match various elements, including settings for the throttle, steering and damper stiffness.

We put together a photo comparison between the M-Class Coupe and the current generation X6 which also be replaced later this year.

2015 Audi S8 Test Drive And Review | Greensboro, NC

2015 Audi S8 Test Drive And Review | Greensboro, NC

2015-Audi-S8-Shawn-Molnar-Sun-Media-Autonet.ca-01-750x500It was a pleasant surprise to check my email and find an invite to drive Audi’s latest iteration of their flagship S8 sedan in my inbox. I’d long respected Audi for its engineering prowess – the Audi Quattro S1 Group-B rally car and all-conquering modern LMP1 LeMans racers come to mind – but as a BMW driver with a distinct distain for front-heavy, understeering cars, I flew to Dusseldorf for the S8 launch with guarded excitement.

Audi has, after all, had a longstanding marriage with understeer. Just how does Audi’s flagship compare to the best from BMW and Alpina? A long, unrestricted stretch of Autobahn linked up with a treacherously curvy B-road served as judge and jury. I took notes.

Audi’s excellent interior build quality is striking and beautiful – horsepower and top-speed concerns fall into the shadows of the S8’s leather, carbon-fibre and metal-covered dash while running your hands across the curvaceous cabin. The seats are firm and supportive, holding you in sport-ready luxury. Okay – they’re not Recaros, but this is no Ferrari. It’s an Audi S8 – interestingly enough, the first car ever built upon an all-aluminum space frame, right in front of the world’s second aluminum-framed car, the Ferrari 360 Modena.

Impressive as the S8’s high-speed cruising proved to be, it was the sedan’s performance in the twisty bits that impressed me the most.

Hunting apexes in Audi’s S8 proved a worthy pastime, and there were plenty of apexes to be had on the sprawling backroads of Dusseldorf’s rural countryside. Audi’s elimination of weight by way of Aluminum construction technology gives the S8 a dual personality. On one hand the machine proves itself a stately executive sedan; on the other hand, it proves itself a plus-size sports car.

Throwing the nose into corners is best accomplished with trail-braking, firmly planting the front tires into the road surface with ample grip for turn-in. The chassis follows nicely, always stable and predictable, maintaining a hint of understeer throughout. Only when pressing on near 10/10ths pace will the S8 reveal some oversteer, requiring quick flicks of opposite lock steering. The rear-bias torque distribution helps the S8 assume a more rear-drive dynamic character, but it’s ultimately an easy to use supercar for four. It will make any driver appear talented as it seamlessly puts all 520 horses to the ground sans-drama. Exiting corners in haste is typically a point and shoot exercise – no fancy car control skills or Piloti shoes required.

How the S8 stacks up against its most aggressive German competition is easy to discern after having vetted all parties. Where the Alpina B7 hangs its tail out for a lurid, smoky slide, the S8 finds grip and powers through the corner. True, you can find grip in the Alpina, but you’ve got to manage it; it requires finesse behind the wheel to drive the Alpina quickly whereas the S8 just sticks – no dancing with the petals required. Where the 760iL requires a timid right foot, the S8 beckons full power, and neatly lays it on the road surface.

The S8 is a refined sports sedan, one that doesn’t wish to make a big display of its performance. Nor does the S8 wish to challenge its driver, demanding car control skills from behind the wheel. It just welcomes more power and translates it to hunkered-down speed, reliably, and without a fuss.

2015-Audi-S8-Shawn-Molnar-Sun-Media-Autonet.ca-26

The feeling you get from behind the wheel bears the rigid frame beneath, there is a certain solidity to the S8 that even the BMWs don’t quite match. The engine torque tugging on the front wheels distorts slightly what would otherwise be a vivid tactile picture of the contact patch; when it comes to steering feel the 7-series has a slight advantage.

Which car you ought to have in your driveway really depends on your driving style, local climate and highways. If you live on an alpine mountain pass with steep inclines to your front door – the S8 wins hands down. But if you’re idea of a rewarding commute to work involves drifting through second-gear corners, the BMW is your weapon.

Of course, an aggressive left-right flick into the right corner can get the S8 to rotate nicely, evoking memories of the Audi Quattro rally car dominating the segment. In this top-shelf segment of German super-sedans, you really can’t lose.

BMW Recommended Service Intervals- Greensboro, NC

Most people in the Triad area are aware that automotive manufacturers have recommended service intervals. Following recommended service intervals is very important. The engineers that design our vehicles have tested the various systems and components to meet durability and safety standards.

BMW-MINI Mercedes-Benz & Audi Schedule Service Intervals
Schedule Service Intervals

The maintenance schedules are designed to achieve the standards. Think of the benefits of following recommended intervals as falling into three general categories: Protection, Efficiency and Safety.

Protection. Let’s start with motor oil. First of all, the engineers recommend a particular weight and type of motor oil for your sedan. All of their oil change recommendations assume using the proper motor oil. Motor oil contains detergents and other additives that clean the engine and provide corrosion resistance. Over time, the additives are depleted. The oil also becomes contaminated by water, dirt and combustion gases.

Extending your interval beyond the recommendation means that your sedan engine will be operating without the full protection of fresh motor oil. It also means that sludge can form in contaminated oil and clog up passages in the engine, starving parts from needed lubrication.

Efficiency. Some services are designed to keep automotive systems operating efficiently. For example, the fuel system gets clogged up with gum and varnish from the fuel. Fuel doesn’t flow efficiently which reduces fuel economy. A fuel system cleaning restores the fuel system’s efficiency and increases your gas mileage.

Safety. Your brakes are obviously one of the most important safety systems on your sedan. The manufacturer has scheduled brake pad replacement as well as power brake fluid drain and replacement intervals. Because brakes are so important, a brake inspection is also on the schedule to head off problems before they result in an accident.

Check your owner’s manual for recommended service schedules or talk with an Expert service advisor at Eurobahn Motorsports by calling 336-542-3555. You’ll find our shop located at 303 S. Swing Rd, Greensboro North Carolina, 27409.

You may be surprised to learn that various inspections may be on your list of factory recommendations for your sedan. These inspections are usually at major intervals like fifteen or thirty thousand miles. They’re designed to uncover important parts that may be close to failing.

Your sedan owner’s manual can tell you when to change your oil, but it can’t tell you that you have a radiator hose that’s bulging and about to burst. For that you need a trained auto technician. These scheduled inspections are in addition to the multi-point inspections done with a full-service oil change.
