Can the Audi e-tron Sportback Dethrone the BMW iX?

You can’t teach an old dog new tricks.
The adage perfectly applies for the Audi e-tron which came into the market in 2018. There was nothing much on offer. Unlike other models of the brand, the Sportback fell flat on tough turf, failing to make an impression. The ones you find in the market are the prototypes of the previous models. In other words, they are pretty much beyond their prime to receive any further updates.

The e-tron Sportback is designed on a modified Q7 chassis, which is not great for EV use, as those changes add to the weight, taking up interior space. The beefy engine of the BMW iX makes a massive difference, providing supreme driving pleasure. More importantly, their range is absolutely unbeatable. While the BMW iX is known for its super impressive range, it falls short in terms of power, though. Both cars use dual electric motors but the iX renders 322 horsepower and the e-tron produces an impressive 402 horsepower. If anything makes the Audi a touch quicker, it is its added power. Albeit heavier, it can do the 0-62 mph sprint in 5.7 seconds. The BMW iX, on the other hand, takes 6.1 seconds to do the the 0-62 mph sprint.
Regardless of being the faster car, the Audi e-tron Sportback is actually less impressive to drive than the BMW iX eDrive40. The latter is even more comfortable and fun. Plus, its interior has more visually interesting, spacious, and high tech components. Just sit inside and feel the difference.
Overall, the Audi e-tron is an impressive car. No wonder it’s a great SUV to drive. However, it was sort of an old dog when it was first launched. Now, it’s reduced to an outmoded piece and is in dire need of replacement.
