Find Joy On the Road with the 2020 VW Passat Midsize Sedan

The 2020 Volkswagen Passat is a refined version of a midsize family sedan that dates back to the 2012 model year. With new exterior and interior, it looks new and fresh to be sure. Moreover, the Passat offers ample space to all its occupants in all directions so that they can stretch out and enjoy a calm and leisurely ride.

The spacious cabin, soft ride and responsive turbocharged engine are what make the Passat an amazing car. The engine is not more powerful though. Nevertheless, its deep well of turbocharged torque makes it feel stronger than many entry-level engines while providing better fuel economy than other sedan’s larger turbo engines and V6s.

The all-new Passat looks stunningly modern and upscale, thanks to its updated styling. That said, even if it has got some refinement, it stays behind a whole lot of class leaders that have received significant facelift in terms of aesthetic and mechanical overhaul, for example, Honda Accord and Toyota Camry. Both hold up well enough with a quite, spacious cabin. But that factors that rank them ahead of the Passat are better handling, more powertrain options, and high quality cabins, notes Volkswagen service Greensboro. There are also more stylish choices with near-luxury cabins that could be found in older Passat generations.

What’s New for 2020?

The 2020 model year marks major refresh for the Passat. All exterior panels except the roof and A-pillars have undergone massive facelift. The interior has got major refreshment as well. The engine remains the same, but it produces more torque than the previous model year. The manufacturer looks to make up for the lost ground by expanding the trim lineup to S, SE, R-Line, and SEL. In other words, the Passat has now a lower starting price than the 2019 model year.

Let’s Step into the Car:

As you get in, you will be surprised to see more stylish options. The new Passat is more dynamic and utilitarian than the previous model. With trim connecting the air vents, they look as though they stretch the full width of the dashboard. The only thing that you can complain about is the cabin.

Performance and Fuel Economy:

The Passat comes with only one powertrain combination comprising a turbocharged 2.0 liter inline four, a six speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive. The engine cranks up 174 horsepower and 206 pound-feet of torque. Curiously, fuel economy has dropped by 2 mpg from last year’s model to 23 mpg city, 34 mpg highway and 27 mpg combined.

Overall, the Passat is an amazing car. In case it develops any issue, be sure to bring it in for VW repair Greensboro.
