The 2-series is a nod to what BMW does best: building sporty, rear-wheel-drive coupes. There are two drivetrain choices: the standard turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder, good for 240 hp, or the more sporting powertrain in the M235i, which features a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six that generates 320 hp. Both engines mate with either a six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic. The new body style is an improvement over the 1-series, which the 2-series replaces, and it’s sportier, too.
